1. What is cross country Flight?

A Cross-Country (XC) flight is an advanced paragliding experience where pilots navigate long distances instead of just gliding down to a landing site. These flights involve soaring on thermals, crossing valleys, and covering tens of kilometers through the mountains.

2. Best season to fly XC in Bir

The ideal season for Cross-Country flying in Bir Billing runs from October to May, with peak conditions from March to early June and October to November. During these months:

✅ Stable weather patterns create smooth thermals

✅ Clear skies & strong lift help in covering long distances

✅ Less turbulence makes for safer and more enjoyable flights

3. What you should check before booking an XC flight with an operator?

Choosing the right pilot and operator is crucial for a safe and enjoyable cross-country flight. Before booking, make sure:

✅ Pilot Certification & Experience – Your pilot should be certified and have extensive XC flying experience (like Yash, with 229 km XC Record!).

✅ Safety Equipment – Ensure the operator provides a reserve parachute, radio communication, and safety briefing before takeoff.

✅ Flight Conditions & Weather Updates – Ask about the best time slot for your flight based on local weather forecasts.

✅ Customer Reviews & Reputation – Read past customer experiences to know what to expect.

4. Medical and Physical Fitness required

While paragliding is not physically demanding, XC flights require endurance and stability due to longer durations (often 90 minutes to 3+ hours in the air). You should:

✅ Have no severe heart, lung, or joint conditions

✅ Be comfortable with heights and long-duration sitting in a harness

✅ Have basic mobility for takeoff and landing

✅ Not suffer from motion sickness (or take precautions before flying)

If you have any medical concerns, please consult your doctor before booking an XC flight.

5. Flights Cancellation Policy

Paragliding is heavily weather-dependent, and flights may be canceled due to unfavorable conditions such as strong winds, rain, or low visibility.

Here’s how cancellations are handled:

If canceled by the operator (due to weather or safety concerns):

✅ You’ll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

❌ No refunds for last-minute cancellations (within 24 hours).
✅ Partial refunds or rescheduling may be available if informed at least 48 hours in advance.
✅ Full refunds or rescheduling is available if informed at least 72 hours in advance.
